EVEREST PARTY
ANOTHER FLIGHT PLANNED.
LADY HOUSTON’S WARNING.
Calcutta, April 12.
Although Lady Houston has implored the members of the British Mount Everest Expedition not to “tempt the evil spirit of the mountain,” they will make another flight over the summit to obtain better pictures. A new staff of meteorologists has arrived at Pumea, the base, to replace those injured by the ignition of the observation balloon, and fresh weather tests are being made. Lady Houston, whose generosity made the expedition possible, cabled to the expedition: “The good spirit of the mountain has been kind to you and brought you success. Be content. Do not tempt the evil spirit of the mountain and bring disaster. Intuition tells hie to warn you that there is danger if you linger.”
