LEPPERTON TO PLAY BOWLS

DAIRY COMPANY’S PAYMENT. (From Our Own Correspondent). The Lepperton branch of the Farmers’ Union at the invitation of the Okato Rifle Club arranged a practice “shoot” at Okato. The weather somewhat spoilt arrangements and only one car-load made the trip. A very enjoyable day was spent, the total scores being even. The settlers of Lepperton district have arrived at the opinion that it is useless to get “their tails down” and become too pessimistic and have decided to form a bowling club. A site has been selected and a strong committee formed. Work in preparing the green has been commenced. A surprisingly large number have already joined the club and suc--cess should be assured.

At a meeting of the directors of the Lepperton Dairy Company it was decided to pay out 6d per lb for both butter and cheese.
