ST. JOHN AMBULANCE WORK
NEW PLYMOUTH SUCCESSES. The St. John Ambulance Association competitions were held on Easter Monday, 14 squads competing. There were squads from Petone, Wellington, Gonville, Wanganui and New Plymouth.. The Wanganui Central Nursing Divison Challenge Cup was won by Gonville with 280 points, New Plymouth gaining second place with 266 J points. The Tawse Memorial Rose Bowl was won by Wanganui Central Nursing Divison, Gonville being second and New Plymouth third. The New Plymouth team were first in home nursing, gaining top marks for this subject and discipline. This was the only team which gained top marks for any subject. This was the first tip l6 that the New Plymouth Nursing Division had taken part in competitions. The following comprised the team of the New Plymouth Nursing Division: Miss M. Knofflock (captain), Mrs. F. Clark, Miss F. Wright, Miss M. Gilbert, Miss M. Howlett (emergency). This team raised their own expenses; therefore the association funds did not suffer.
