MANAIA 21st BIRTHDAY.

PARTY FOR MISS THELMA JONES.

The 21st birthday of Miss Thelma Jones, only daughter of, Mr. and’ Mrs. Sid Jones, Manaia, was celebrated at the Manaia Town Hall last week, when there were was a large gathering. Mr. C. W. Abbott proposed the health of the guest, Supported by Mr. V 7. Bachelor the toast was accorded musical honours. Miss Jones replied. Mrs. Jones presented her daughter with a key, all present joining singing “For She’s a Jolly Good Fellow.” The tables were decorated by Mrs. F. Walker with pink and white flowers, asparagus and begonias. The three-tier pink cake, which was made by Mrs. Jones, was decorated with 21 pink and white candles and 21 mascots made by Miss Jones.

Dance-music was played by the Peter Pan orchestra and novelty dances were won as follows: Statute waltz, Mr. N. Hudson and Miss Margaret Cosgrove; monte carlo waltz, Miss V. Fama and Miss D. Symes. Master Keith Davis gave a pianoforte solo, and vocal items were contributed by Miss Mackie and Mr. D. Hooper, the accompanist being Miss Thelma Jones. Those present included Miss Thelma Jones (sequins and tulle over pink satin, with white velvet cape and pink satin sandel shoes and stockings), Mrs. Jones (black silk lace and cape trimmed with white fur), Misses L. Haughton (black satin and red coatee), N. Davis (black satin and blue coatee), M. Mackie (apple green satin), E, Davis (tomato georgette), . H. Wilson (black satin), E. Duggan, (black taffetas), M. Bourke (red satin), K. Brown (red crepe de chine), D. Hickey (white satin), K. Hickey (black satin), W. White (green figured organdie), G. Young (green satin), N. Campbell (lemon organdie), A. Dick (lime embossed georgette), C. McPhillips (blue crepe de chine), L. Duncan (red satin), C. Rothery (orchid georgette), C. Andrews (figured georgette), C. Edwards (black satin), M. Thurston (figured blue silk voile), D. Sutter (black frock), N. Bennett (lemon satin), L. Putt (apple green taffetas), B. McCullum (black satin), O. Schicker (flame satin), S. Gopperth (figured voile), Joan Murray (white satin), M. Cosgrove (pink satin), B. Schicker (black satin), C. Thurston (white frilled organdie), E. Harrison (pink silk laces), H.
