TENNIS AGAINST NORFOLK ROAD. At the Inglewood courts on Saturday the--Inglewood junior tennis team defeated Norfolk Road by 13 sets (42 games) to 11 sets (125 games). An enjoyable afternoon was spent and a number of the games were very evenly contested. Details, with Inglewood players mentioned first, are:— ■. / Men’s singles: C. Deem lost to Meyer 5—7, J. Laurence 7—4, Mrs. Torrens and Mrs. Cameron defeated Misses Reeve and Ashton 7—l. Combined doubles: Miss C. Partridge and Deem lost to Miss B. Dombroski and Meyer 6—7, Miss M. Longbottom and J. Longbottom lost to Miss Reeve and Comer 6—7, Miss P. Partridge and Sinclair defeated Miss Thomason and Timms 7—6, Mrs. Torrens and Beadle defeated Miss O. Laurence and Dobson 7—3, Mrs. Cameron and Jackson lost to MiAs M. Reeve and A. West 5—7, Miss Partridge and H. Longbottom lost to Miss M. Ashton and H. West o—7.0 —7. Popple Cup Bowling. Inglewood Saturday bowlers played their first round to find their champion team for the Popple Cup. Each game was of 10 heads. The results are:—G. Gernhoefer, Peters, P. Gemhoefer, Allen (s), 2 wins; Martin, H. Marsh, H. Curtis, Rosewarne (s), 2 wins; A. Drake, Bowler, Bublitz, Morton (s), 1 win; Hanwright, Brown, A. Johnston, H. Codd (s), 1 win.
Cycle Club Success, The Inglewood Cycle Club is to be congratulated on its success at the Waitara sports, C. Parker winning both the half mile and two mile New Zealand championships easily and E. Standing winning the big three miles handicap event.
