SOLICITOR’S DEFALCATIONS
AUCKLANDER STRUCK OFF ROLLS. BRILLIANT SCHOLASTIC CAREER. By Telegraph—Press Association, ■Wellington, Last Night On the application of the New Zealand Law Society the Appeal Court today made an order striking Thomas Henry Wood, Auckland, off the rolls of practising barristers and solicitors of the Dominion. Wood was ordered not to apply for readmission for at least five years. Counsel for the Law Society said Wood had a very brilliant scholastic record, obtaining his masters degree with first-class honours in 1924 and a travelling scholarship in law in 1928. After studying lawin England he returned to New Zealand and was readmitted to his partnership. Defalcations amounting to £lO2 extending over the last five months of 1932 had been admitted by Wood. No loss had been sustained by clients as the amount of the defalcations had been refunded by Wood’s partner.
