FIJI INCREASES EXCHANGE
PRESENT RATE 25 PER CENT. BANKS ASKED TO CO-OPERATE. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Suva, March 28. The exchange rates of Fiji on London were advanced approximately 11 per cent, to 25 per cent, on January 20. • A meeting of the Legislative Council this morning stabilised exchange at 111 Fiji per £lOO sterling. The commissioners of currency will handle exchange with a minimum of £5OOO, and local banks are asked to co-operate.
