AMERICAN VISIT ABANDONED. NEGOTIATIONS BY NEW ZEALAND. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, March 28. Although the plans for a visit by the American swimmers, Kalili and Kurtz, have been abandoned, preliminary negotiations for a visit to New Zealand by Japanese swimmers next season are under way. Advice to this effect was received by | the Wellington centre from the council of the New Zealand Amateur Swim- | ming Association last evening. The i council stated that the American’s visit had been abandoned, as insufficient guarantees had been received, and that the secretary had been instructed to open [negotiations for a Japanese visit.
