MEETING OF ASSOCIATION. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night A conference, of delegates from various branches of the Investors’ Protection Association throughout the dominion was held at Wellington, with Mr. George Shirtcliffe in the chair. It was decided to appoint a central executive with headquarters at Wellington and to ask the branch associations to organise further branches and obtain membership throughout the respective districts with the object of watching the interests of mortgagees and investors generally and protecting their rights, particularly as far as legislation inimical to their interests is concerned. A number of remits were passed. One protests against the Government making any further reduction in interest rates on mortgages and investments secured by contract, while another provides for a deputation to wait on the Government to urge the appointment of a mortgagee representatives on all adjustment commissions.
