CANADIAN EXPORT TRADE

BRITISH PURCHASES INCREASE. NOW FOURTH AMONG NATIONS. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Ottawa, March 3. Canada in 1932 occupied fourth place among the nations with her products in the British market, against twelfth place in 1931. The Minister of Trade and Commerce, Mr. H. H. Stevens, commented that in one year British imports from Canada have increased 31 per cent, in value and much more in volume. “No other country in the world has made so magnificent a showing in that direction,” he said. “Many other countries have suffered heavy declines in British import trade, and amongst the greatest trading nations only Australia and Canada have recorded increased imports by Great Britain, that of Canada being the greatest increase of all.”
