O. P. GEORGE RECORDS POSSIBLE. SHOOTING AT THE LONG RANGES. The New Plymouth Defence Rifle Club continued its competitions on Saturday,, firing at 800 and 900 yards. The weather was fine with a variable frontal wind and shooting was of a high standard. Rifleman O. P. George, shooting on Thursday, made the highest score off the rifle, including a possible at 800 yards. Scores over 80 are:—

The tenth competition will be fired at 800 and 900 yards on Thursday and Sat-, urday of this week. TARANAKI CHAMPIONSHIPS. EASTER MEETING ARRANGED. A meeting of the executive of the Taranaki Rifle Association was held on Saturday night, the president, Mr. F. L. Hartnell, presiding. Consideration was given to the annual Taranaki championship rifle meeting, which it was decided to hold on two days during the Easter holidays as in past years. Last year’s programme was adopted with minor alterations. Entry fees were fixed at the same amounts as last year, with the exception of a lower rate for women competitors.
