OPUNAKE B TEAM DEFEATED. Taking advantage of the fine weather, the Opunake B and Pungarehu tennis teams played a match ■ for the Moron Shield at the week-end after postponing it on several occasions. A glorious round of tennis was enjoyed and fine matches were witnessed. ■ Pungarehu won by 13 sets to 3.

Following are the scores, Pungarehu names first;— Combined, doubles: Miss C. Brophy and R. B. Fleming beat Miss Layton and H. Barraclough, 7—5; Miss E. Gilhooley and B. Brophy beat Miss Hinch and Mr. Muschamp, 7—4; Miss I. . Gray and W. Priest beat Miss McNae and Mr. Mclvor, 7—4; Miss M. Brophy and T. Okeroa lost to Mrs. Humphries and Mr. Craighead, 6 7. Ladies’ doubles: Misses C. Brophy and Gilhooley beat Misses Layton and Hinch, 7—3; Misses I. Gray and M. Brophy beat Miss McNae and Mrs. Humphries, 7—6. Men’s doubles: R- B. Fleming and B. Brophy beat Messrs Barraclough and Muschamp, 9—6; W. Priest and T. Okeroa beat Messrs Mclvor and Craighead, 9—6.
