AUCKLAND-NORFOLK ISLAND. RESULT OF FRUIT EMBARGO. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. As a result of the New Zealand Government’s embargo on Australian fruit the Bums Philp Co. has withdrawn the passenger steamer Morinda from the Norfolk Island-Auckland service. There will be no direct steamer service between Auckland and Norfolk Island, whence used to come a considerable portion of Auckland’s supply of bananas, early tomatoes, early kumaras and other fruit, and vegetables.
