Taihape, Last Night; Two women, Constance Stretton, married, and Frances Nixon, single, were charged in the Court yesterday with shoplifting, before Mr. R. M. Watson, S.M. Stretton, who was declared to be the ringleader, was fined £25, and Nixon was fined £5, the alternatives being a month in gaol for each. Both were suspected by local shopkeepers for 12 months. A trap was set, and Nixon was caught. She confessed and a big haul of goods was recovered.
