RAHOTU NEWS
A large party consisting of MesdameS Chapman sent., Pennington and Fred Chapman, Misses Butler and Pennington. Messrs. F. Chanman. Pennington, Mackey and two boys are spending a camping and fishing holiday at Mokau. The condition of Miss Edna Shepherd, who has had a serious operation in the public hospital, is causing her friends and relations great anxiety. Miss H. Clarke has returned from a visit to Te Kiri.
Mrs. Hughson senr. arid Miss Eileen Hughson are leaving for a holiday to Christchurch. Next week Mrs. T. Willcox, her son and daughter-in-law (Mr. and Mrs. Leadham) are leaving on an extended trip to England. Miss Hinchly is visiting her sister, Mrs. B. Hopkins. Bishop Bennet addressed a fair congregation in St. Nicholas Church on Tuesday evening, when suitable hymns were sung. The weather is still most changeable for harvesting the large crops of wheat that have been grown locally. Mr. Cameron was lucky in just saving his before the weather broke.
