AUROA NEWS

SCHOOL COMMITTEE MEETING. The monthly' meeting of the Auroa school committee was held on Tuesday. The headmaster reported that the roll number for the new year was 118, a decrease of 8 in number from the close of the 1932 year. During the holidays the committee had seen to the cutting of grass and the trimming of hedges round the school arid’ the windmill had been removed. The vestibule had been given three coats of paint. The headmaster would be absent for a week to go into camp at: Waverley and Miss Fleming would s '-act ds relieving teacher during that time. Throughout the warm weather the • children would continue with swimming lessons and would practise for their certificates. Arrangements were made to hold the annual school picnic at Opunake beach during the third week in February. FACTORY CRICKET MATCH. Playing at Auroa last Monday week Auroa defeated Kapuni by 22 runs.
