BOX AND CRATE SUPPLIES

TARANAKI DAIRY FACTORIES SUPPORT FOR EGMONT COMPANY. DECISION BY CONFERENCE. A decision by which practically all the dairy companies in Taranaki will in future secure their butter box and cheese crate requirements from the Egniont Box Company was made at a conference of dairy company representatives i Eltham yesterday. Mr. J. S. McKay, deputy-chairman of directors of the Box Company, presided over a large and representative attendalThe meeting was not open to the Press, but it was afterwards stated that the principal business was to discuss a proposal that all orders from dairy companies operating in Taranaki for box and crate material should be placed with the Box Company. The meeting, representing practically all the companies in Taranaki, both shareholders and non-shareholders in the Box Company, unanimously decided in favour of the proposal, and agreed that all their requirements in butter boxes and cheese crates should go through the company. Some of the delegates did not have voting power, but there was no opposition to the resolution. It was understood the view taken was that unless solid support was given to the Box Company, the shareholding dairy companies would face the possibility of losing the capital invested in the company, and also that by all companies co-operating in placing their orders the cost of the material would be reduced to a minimum.
