HINKLER SEARCH ABANDONED
LITTLE CHANCE OF BEING ALIVE. FUND TO ERECTION OF MEMORIAL. By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. London, Jan. 26. After consultation with the Air Ministry the committee organising the search for Mr. Bert Hinkler, the missing Australian airman, abandoned plans for a land search in Switzerland, being convinced of the impossibilities of finding Mr. Hinkler alive. It is now proposed to devote the funds to the erection of a memorial in London.
