AMATEUR ATHLETICS
TARANAKI SUB-CENTRE MEETING.
A meeting of the Taranaki Amateur Athletic sub-centre was held at Stratford last night, when Mr. P. Skoglund (Stratford) presided oyer Messrs. L. H. Clapham and T. Overton (Hawera), M. Prince and A. Whiting (Elthain), L. Wynyard (Stratford), C. H. Croker, J. E. Warner and A. S. Hunter (New Plymouth Harriers) and C. Cummins (secretary, Hawera). / As Mr. D. J. Malone did not accept the position of delegate to the centre Mr. A. Whiting was appointed. . The meeting approved February 11 as the date for the sub-centre championship meeting at New Plymouth, and it/Will be suggested to the New Plymouth club that a 220 yards championship for juniors (under 18 ' years) be included in the programme, Mr. Whiting having pointed out that there was a number of boys who, while not far enough advanced to compete in the open would welcome an event for junior*, COM
