Mrs. L. Kirkby left for a trip to Auckland on Saturday. Mrs. N. James was a visitor to Inglewood last week-end.

Mrs. Kaye, Durham Road, and her two-children have gone to Tongaporutu holidaying. ■' Mrs. Hanlon, who has been the guest of Mrs. W. Stevens, Durham Road, has returned to Hastings. Mrs. Henry Rose, who was visiting Mrs. R. Rose, has returned to her home at Hastings.
Miss Shirley Kitson has returned to Te Kuiti after spending a lengthy holiday with Mrs. lan Grant. Mrs. Randolph Rose is spending a few days with Mrs. Wanklyn. . - Mrs. R. McDonald has returned to Wellington.-,

Mrs. Arthur Mundin has returned-to Wellington after a lengthy holiday with Mrs. D. E. L. Rose, Tarata.-
Miss Marguerite. Leech entertained at morning tea on Wednesday. Mrs. lan Grant was hostess at tennis on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. Mrs. Colville, who has been visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leech, left on-Thursday for Southland. ■ Mrs. Baxter passed through Inglewood on Monday en route to Marton. Mrs. Wanklyn left on Thursday to spend the week at Eltham.
Mrs. Feaver is on a visit to New Plymouth.
A tennis afternoon was spent on Mrs. Wanklyn’s court on Tuesday, when the staff of the Bank of New Zealand played the Bank of New South Wales. The former were victorious. The hostess served afternoon tea.
Mrs. Leech entertained at musical evenings on Tuesday and Friday. Ainong the' guests were Mesdames McDowell (Stratford), Colville (Southland), Hayton (New Plymouth), Shrimpton (New Plymouth) and Ross, Misses Florence Russell (Oamaru) and Leech. At the monthly meeting of the Women’s' Institute last : Wednesday a most enjoyable talk was given by Miss Drew on her travels in England, Norway and through the Kiel Canal. The hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames Lindsay and Leich, Misses Trimble and Leech. Competitions werJ held and afternoon tea brought to a close an enjoyable time. A garden party was given by the Women’s Institute at the residence of Mrs. Braybrooke on Wednesday in honour of Mrs. T. C. M. Allen and her daughter Jean, who are leaving shortly on their ‘return to Britain. A large gathering of members • and friends met. Tennis, golf croquet® skittles and competitions help■ed to pass the afternoon, the weather being ideal. The well-kept garden and beautiful flowers made a good setting for the occasion, great admiration being expressed of the fine dahlias. Afternoon tea was served on the shady lawn, after which Miss Trimble, president, expressed the wishes of all present that Mrs. Allen and her daughter shquld have a happy journey home. Miss Trimble also spoke of Mrs. Allen’s <good work in forming the Inglewood institute and asked her to accept a posy of lavender (made by Mrs. Adnams). Musical honours were accorded the guests. The golf croquet competition was won by Miss Comey, the skittles by Miss Allen, the hidden parcel by Mesdames Duncan and T. Lindsay (tie), and the articled tray by Mesdames Hislop and Colville (tie). Miss M. Foley, Stratford, is the guest of Miss J. Feaver.
