Miss Lily Beaurepaire, a former Australian swimming champion, was the central figure hi a thrilling rescue of four men who had been swept by an undertow into heavy surf at Lorne. She ran a quarter of a mile on hearing the alarm, swam 200 yards and brought the men ashore on a surf board.
