GENERAL AND PERSONAL ITEMS. ■ . ■ , A tennis match against Rawhiti at Tariki has been arranged to take place at the week-end. The Tariki players will be: Misses L. Hucker, M. James, R. Hucker, Mrs. W. Robertson, Misses D. James, I. Loveridge, D. McCullum, C. Young, Messrs. D. Therkleson, H. Humphries, A. Martin, L. Horves, W. Crowe, T. Wright, W. Young and F. HilL Mr. and Mirs. Brunsell, Palmerston North, have taken up their residence in the district. Mr. Brusnell takes up the position of stationmaster. Mr.-and Mrs. Briggs, Hillsborough, paid a short visit to. Mr. and Mrs. L. Hollis, Surrey Road. Mrs. H. Kerr and son have returned from a holiday at Nev/ Plymouth. Mr. R. Taylor, Surrey Road, has reentered the New Plymouth hospital. Mr. Crabbe, formerly headmaster of the Tariki school, paid a visit to the district and renewed many old acquaintances.

Mr. and Mrs. Oakley, Kaimiro, paid a week-end visit to Mr. and Mrs. L. Hollis. Miss Dulcie McCullum is spending a few days at a New Plymouth beach. Mrs. W. Loveridge is on a visit to New Plymouth. Visitors from the Hawera district this week expressed surprise at the greenness of the pastures in Central Taranaki, stating that in South Taranaki they have a very parched appearance.
