BOY THROWN FROM PONY

KAKARAMEA CHILD INJURED. FALL ON. BOXTHORN STAKES. Thrown from a pony on to the stakes of a newly cut boxthorn hedge at Kakaramea, William Stanbridge, aged eight years, received a jagged cut on the arm which necessitated several stitches. The following day the boy appeared to be suffering from some abdominal injury, and was taken to the Patea hospital seriously ill. An examination revealed a fractured spleen. His condition was reported to be improving yesterday.
