2YB AERODROME RELAY

RECEPTION IN WANGANUITRIBUTE FROM A LISTENER. A warm tribute to the excellence of the broadcast by station 2YB from the New Plymouth aerodrome on Wednesday evening is paid by a Wanganui resident in a letter to the editor of the Daily News. “I take this opportunity to express my appreciation of the manner m which the official announcer .handled his job at the microphone, especially towards the closing stages of the southern Cross flight,” says the listener (who signs himself “Appreciated’). "We down this way, and I am sure all others listen-ing-in, must have imagined themselves actually on the .’drome, from the capable description that, your announcer gave us of the landing, . etc. His task called for him to be calm and collected throughout the final stages, and those responsible for choosing our unseen announcer knew their job.’ ■ The “unseen announcer” referred to was Mr. J. S. King.
