MATIERE DISTRICT NEWS
PROGRESSIVE LEAGUE MEETING. The monthly • meeting of . the Matiere Citizens’ Progressive League was held on Monday, with a fair attendance, of members. It was resolved that the league send two delegates, Mr. Elwood and one other available member, to represent the league at the meeting convened by the Ohura Valley Dairy Co. at Niho Niho to-day, in connection with the proposed railway timetable between Taumarunui and Stratford. Mr. and Mrs. T. P. Taylor, of the Education Department, Sydney, -are spending their vacation with Mr.- Tay--lor’s parents at Matiere. Mrs. W. Coventry, Patamaheo, is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. D. Beaton, Whe-. nuakura Road.
Mr. and Mrs. J. Chapman, Wangaehu, have been spending a few days at “Lesmoyle.”
