CRICKET AT MIDHIRST

NEW CLUB’S INITIAL SUCCESS. A meeting convened for the purpose of forming a cricket club was largely attended by keen supporters. The following officers were elected: Patron, Mr. W. J. Polson; president, Mr. Tunnicliffe; vice-presidents, 'eleven elected; secretary and treasurer, Mr. R. Meads. It was decided to enter a team for the local competition. Platt have taken a house at New Plymouth, where, they will spend three Weeks’ holiday.- • Mrs. R. Boyles and family are spending a few days with relatives at New Plymouth. ■ The Misses Betts, Waitara, are spending their school holidays with Mrs. R. Hogg arid Mrs. J. Tapp.
