Flying-Officer lan Keith, chief pilotinstructor of the Western Federated Flying Club, has resumed light duties at New Plymouth after a brief absence cn account of illness.
The Rev. G. W. Turner, vicar of Te Aroha, who has exchanged parochial duties with the Rev. W. S. C. Stephens for a month, has arrived at Fitzroy and is in residence at the vicarage. . Among those present at the Stratford races yesterday were Sir Walter Camcross, Speaker of the Legislative Council, the Hon. R. Masters, M.L.C., Minister of Education and Commerce, and Messrs. W. J. Polson and H. G. Dickie, M.sP.
The death of Mrs. Mary F. Wilkinson occurred at her residence at Woolcombe Terrace, New Plymouth, yesterday at the age of 79 years. Mrs. Wilkinson formerly resided in the Wairarapa. Her late husband, Mr. J. W. Wilkinson, predeceased her about six months ago. Guests at the Imperial Hotel, New Plymouth, over the week-end included Mr. and Mrs- G. H. Coster, Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Wells, Mr. and Mrs. E. Stoupe, Mr. and Mrs. F. Burminster, Mr. and Mrs. J. Jackson and Mr. A. Payne, all of Wellington. ,
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Rowe and family, Mr. L. Marshall, Miss P. Turnbull, Mr. W. T. Ridd (Wanganui), Miss Ridd (Melbourne), Mr. and Mrs. C. Sander, Mr. and Mrs. Sneddon, Mrs. and Miss Walde (Wellington), and Mr. and ] _rs. Palmer (Lower Hutt) are visiting New Plymouth and are staying at the White Hart Hotel. A message of sympathy with the widow and family of the late Rev. R. M. Rybum, former director of the Presbyterian youth movement, is to be'sent from the Dominion conference of Bible classes and Sunday school teachers at New Plymouth. Dr. J. D. Salmond, the present director, speaking at the roll call held in St. Andrew’s Church on Saturday night, said Mr. Rybum was appointed youth director in the Presbyterian Church in 1920 and had served splendidly in that capacity until his death'last year. All other bodies connected with the Presbyterian Church had sent their messages of sympathy and it was fitting that a similar expression should come from the conference. The conference stood in silence for a moment.
