The water board’s figures of new buildings erected in the city and suburbs during the current year show that, the slump, which was in evidence during 1931, had continued during the first six months of the current year , but there was • an upwards , tendency in. recent months. The returns show that 1443 new buildings were erected ■ at a cost of £1,866,472 this year, compared with 1621 new buildings costing £1,792,145 in 1931. <
