NATIONAL GENERAL SECRETARY. VISIT TO NEW PLYMOUTH. , Miss Jean Stevenson, national gen- : eral secretary in New Zealand for the Y.W.C.A., is to visit New Plymouth from February 10 to 24, and Miss, Greenwell, the- local genetai secretary, ana other officers are arranging an itinerary. j : - Though she will this year complete ■ her first year as national general secretary, Miss Stevenson has had -a long. !.,,■< association' with the Y.W.C.A. mov.e- . ; ment in both New Zealand, and tralia. She was general secretary .of -■ Auckland for some years and then went >■. j to America for a special, course -of :: study in which Y.W.C.A. administration figures prominently. Returning to Aus- . ? - tralia she filled a number of local eral secretaryships and then became mitional general secretary ' of Australia. ■. Later she left the movement for a while : ; and then accepted the position as gen- > eral secretary of Melbourne,! and .frem there she was called at : the beginning of the year to New Zealand. Miss Stevenson is considered the mpst V. j; brilliant national woman in the YAVC.A. in the Southern Hemisphere, . day she is endeavouring to bring a readjustment of the work to meet • the present changing conditions.
