PERFECT CONTROL GAINED.

PASSENGERS NOT RESTRICTED. By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. Colombo, Dec. 20. There have been 36 cases of smallpox to date. The situation is under perfect control, and the port surgeon expresses the opinion that it is absolutely safe for tourists to land if vaccinated. All ships’ workers and agents are vaccinated, and no person is allowed 'on board unless vaccinated. Ships entering the port are warned by the authorities and the passengers advised that it is unsafe to land unless vaccinated, but there are no restrictions regarding the landing of passengers. There was a lull during the week-end, only one case being reported.
