ROMANCE AT OPERA HOUSE

-' .... , „. , ■’ . / 1 ■ “HER MAJESTY LOVE” OPENS. The plot of “Her Majesty Love, ’’ which opened last night at the New Plymouth Opera House, revolves round the love affair of Lia Zorreck, a charming barmaid at the Berlin cabaret, and Fred Von Wellingen, the only youthful member of the directorate of the Von Wellingen Ball-bearing Corporation. The opening scene is at the cabaret, where as the result of a wager Fred asks Lia to dance with him. Much to his embarrassment he does not win his wager as it is made clear that Lia .will not dance unless he seriously intends to marry her. On the following night he agrees to the terms and they dance together. The couple, accompanied by Lie’s father, who is a barber, subsequently attend a gathering of the shareholders, all old members of the Von Weflingen family, where the engagement is announced and naturally causes consternation.
