COUNTRY COMPILE 435 RUNS.

MATCH AGAINST WELLINGTON. > WEAKNESS IN . CITY BOWLING.' By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, . Last Night. Weakness in the bowling of Wellington city cricketers this season was revealed on the Basin Reserve to-day when tlie Country eleven "amassed' the big total of 435 runs against Town in the annual match. The weather was fine and the wicket in good order. McGirr (Nel- / son) and O’Brien (Hawke’s Bay) were unable to play for Country, but this did not weaken the team*'greatly, as their substitutes Hayward (Rangitikei) and . Freeman (Nelson) scored 82 and 76 not out respectively. The ground work for the Country team’s big total was laid by Cameron (Rangitikei) and; : Massey (Wairarapa), who put on 93 for the second wicket Hayward and Freeman added 103 for the ninth wicket.
