WHITELEY CHURCH SOCIAL

ANNIVERSARY OF FOUNDATION. • An annual social in connection with the anniversary celebrations of Whiteley Methodist Church, New Plymouth, was held in the Whiteley Hall, last night, when there was a good attendance of parishioners. In the absence of the Rev. Clarence Eaton through illness, the Rev. G. S. Cook, who is acting as supply, presided, with him being associated the Rev. W. J. Henderson and the Rev. R. Dudley. Mr. Cook expressed his pleasure at being able to renew old friendships in New Plymouth. Mr. Eaton, had he been present, would have been able to speak on the activities of the church during the year- . An address on “Important Choices m Life” was given by Mr. Dudley. A musical programme was contributed by Miss E. L. Dowling (violin solos), Miss F. Sutherland (songs), Mrs. V. Parkinson (pianoforte solos), Messrs R. L. Cooper and W. L. Hay (duets), and Mr. R. Deare (songs). Mr. Cook gave recitations.
