COUNTRY STOCK SALES. PRICES AT FRANKTON. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Hamilton, Dec. 13. A heavy yarding of fat cattle was offered at the weekly Frankton stock sale to-day. Fat steers barely maintained last week’s quotations, while values for fat cows and heifers! receded. All classes of sheep also came forward in heavy numbers. Late rates were maintained for wethers, but . fat ewes, were rather dull of sale, prices being about equal to those realised' last week. In spite of th s particularly heavy -entry of fat pigs, quotations did not decline- to any appreciable extent. Values for baconers remained fairly firm, while porkers again met with a steady demand. The auctioneers quote as follows:-— Sheep: Best heavy wethers made up to 14s; good wethers, 11s 6d to 12s 8d; lighter, 10s 3d to Ils 3d; good quality fat ewes, 5s 6d; fair average quality, 4s ?d to ss; store ewes, 3s 3d; fat lambs, to 13s for prime heavy; medium-weight prime, Hs 6d to 12s 6d; light fat, 8s to 9s 6d; store lambs, 6s Id to 7s. Cattle: Fat bullocks, £3 10s to £5 2s; unfinished, bullocks, £3; fat young cows and heifers, £3 to £3 12s; medium quality fat cows; 35s to £2 6s; light and unfinished, 25s to 37s 6d; boners, 21s. Pigs: Extra heavy baconers, to £2; prime, £1 -16 s to £1 19s; medium, £1 12s to £1 14s; light baconers and heavy porkers,’£l 8s to £1 Ils; medium porkers, £1 2s to £1 6s; light, 16s to 21s; choppers, 15s to £1 19s; best stores, 18s to 21s 6d; others,: 14s to 17s; slips, 9s to 13s 6d;'weaners, 5s to Bs. LONDON WOOL SALES SERIES. PRICES DECREASE SLIGHTLY. By Telegraph- -Press London, Dec. 13. At the wool sales 6575 bales were offered, including 2272 New Zealand, and about 4797 were sold. New Zealand greasy crossbred, SJC—-Nj 91d; halfbred lambs slipe, TBS, Canterbury, top 12Jd, average IOJd. _ The series closed with brisk home and Continental competition. Prices, compared with October closing rates, were: Merinos, greasy fine combing, barely 5 per cent, lower; robuster styles, par; scoured combings, 5 per cent, dearer; medium coarse, 5 per cent, lower; topmaking styles, 10 to 15 per cent, lower; slipe, fine, par; medium and coarse, 5 to 10 per cent, lower.
