SUNDAY SCHOOL ANNIVERSARY. . The annual Sunday school anniversary services of the Methodist Church in Inglewood were held on Sunday, when special hymns were rendered by the children under the baton of Mr. Martin Sutherland. In the morning and afternoon addresses were given by the Rev. R. B. Gosnell, New Plymouth, and in the evening the Rev. Utting, who was a minister in Inglewod some years ago, took the service. On Monday evening a very enjoyable tea party was given to the children at the Sunday school. A team from the West End Croquet Club visited Inglewood on Tuesday and played a match against the local club. The gamfes resulted as follows:— Captain Hartnell and Mrs. Andrews 26 v. Mesdames Codd and Merry 23. Mesdames Turnbull and Honeyfield 26 v. Mesdames Drake and Ashton 9. Mesdames Lobb and Pearson 26 v. Mesdames Bublitz and Leslie 11.
The following bowling rinks have been selected to represent Inglewood against Avon on Thursday next, at Avon: A. Codd, G. Farquhar, G. Mason, H. Cottier (s): W. Smith, E. Henderson, H. Codd, J. Wilson (s); A.' Johnston, D. Allen, E. Maetzig, E. Lovell (s); G. Lamb, J. Somerton, J. Mulholland, F. Spurdie (s); W. Martin, G. Raynor, G. Ashton, S. McLaggan (s). Mi’. C. McKinney, headmaster of the Inglewood public school for the past two yedrs, has been transferred on promotion to Dannevirke, and takes up his new appointment after the term holidays, J -x
