TENNIS MATCH AT URENUI

VISIT PAID BY WAITARA CLUB. A B team from the Waitara Tennis Club defeated Urenui by nine sets to six sets at Urenui on Saturday. Detailed results are:— Ladies’ singles: Miss Kent beat Miss Dempster 6—4, Miss Gorrie beat Miss Elliott 6—2, Miss Zimmerman beat Miss St. George 6 —4. Men’s, singles: Simondsen beat Bigelow 6—3, Rogers beat Madsen 6—3, Zimmerman beat Martin 6—l, Muschamp beat Rattenbury 6—3. Combined doubles: Bigelow and Miss Gorrie beat Simondsen and Miss Elliott 6—3, Madsen and Miss Kent beat Rogers and Mrs. Dempster 6—3, Martin and Miss St. George beat Mr. and. Miss Zimmerman. 6—4, Muschamp and Miss Hingley beat Rattenbury and Miss Mooney 6—2. Ladies’ doubles: Misses St. George and flingley lost to Misses Mooney and Zimmerman 4—6, Miss Kent and Miss Gorrie beat Mrs. Dempster and Miss Elliott 6—fl. Men’s doubles: Martin and Muschamp beat Zimmerman and Rattenbury 6—4, Rogers and Simondsen beat Madsen and Bigelow 6—5. The Waitara C team travelled to Norfolk Road to play but the match had to be abandoned after a few games on account of the rain. Bigelow and Seiwood defeated their opponents in -the men’s doubles and Penman and Kent were defeated. Miss Joll and Bullen were successful in their set, but the Misses Paulger were defeated. It is hoped to play the match later. ’ r
