S. MARY’S SCHOOL FUNCTION.
The pupils of S. Mary’s school on Friday night gave an enjoyable concert to a large and appreciative audience. A violin quartette, was given by Misses E. Rogers, B. Stalker, Naish and Mr. Rogers, with Miss W. Scott at the piano; songs were sung by senior and junior pupils and a French song by the little ones. Some of Miss Galbraith’s music pupils, Thelma Larcomb, Dorothea Brown and Ellen Prideau gave pianoforte selection which delighted the audience. Miss Stolt’s dancing pupils performed very gracefully. The senior pupils were very pleasing in a gavotte, as were' also the junior pupils in their gavotte. In a ballroom dance the dancers were most effective. The little play, “Alice in Wonderland,” was delightful, the parts being: “Big Alice,” Barbara Stalker; “Little Alice,” Valda Eason; “March Hare,” April Jardine; “Mad Hatter,” Joan Blackmore; “White Rabbit,” Nan Morrison; “The Dormouse,”. May Robertson. The solo dances in the sketch were much admired for their skill. “The Curtain,” portrayed by Mary Wood, was excellent.
