ELTHAM GARDEN PARTY.
FAREWELL TO MRS. T. E. THOMPSON
A garden party was held on Friday in the grounds of Miss B. Pease, Rawhitiroa Road, where a large number of friends gathered to bid farewell to Mrs. T. E. Thompson, who has left to reside at Dannevirke. Miss Pease received the guests, wearing floral georgette and blue felt hat. Mrs. Thompson was wearing brown marocain and black felt hat. Mrs. Thompson was presented with a bouquet in delicate shades of cream and pink, made by Miss H. Wilson. Mrs. L. Weir won the golf putting, Mrs. Gay the golf croquet, and Mrs. Guthrie and Miss Langston the treasure hunt. Afternoon tea was served in the garden, after which Mrs. Walter Wilson spoke of the high esteem in which Mrs. Thompson was held, and presented her with an oak dinner wagon with covers to match. Mrs. Thompson replied thanking her friends. Songs were contributed by Mrs. O. H. Bjomgard, Mrs. Clifford Jones playing the accompaniments.
