MEAT CARGO AT GISBORNE
PORT DUNEDIN FROM WELLINGTON. QUESTION OF LOADING UNSETTLED By Telegraph.—Press Association. Gisborne, Nov. 22. The arrival of the Port Dunedin from Wellington carrying meat reported to have been loaded by non-union labour was expected to precipitate a further dispute on the waterside to-day, but after a lengthy meeting the watersiders agreed to load wool and butter awaiting shipment, leaving the question of meat loading unsettled. No effort was made by the employers to secure transhipment of the meat to-day.
The unemployed maintained their support of the unionists by refusing to work on the fighters, and only a small response was made to the call for nonunion labour for the coastal vessels Tairoa and Alwyn G.
