RE-OPENING OF PARLIAMENT
HEAVY BRITISH PROGRAMME. FORECAST OF KING’S SPEECH. (British Official Wireless.) Rec. 5.5 p.m. Rugby, Nov. 21. The King, who with the Queen returned to London from Sandringham on Saturday, will to-morrow drive in state to re-open Parliament. As the procession reaches the House of Lords a salute of 21 guns will be given in St. James’ Park.
The speech the King will deliver from the Throne in the House of Lords will foreshadow a heavy programme, legislative and otherwise, for the coming session. The principal Bill before Parliament will be that dealing with unemployment insurance. It is probable that in references to international affairs the King’s Speech will give prominence to the disarmament question, while mention doubtless will be made of the World Economic Conference to be held in London next year.
