UNIONISTS DECLINE WORK
CANTERBURY FREEZING DISPUTE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Nov. 22. Work at the various Canterbury freezing works was to have started to-day, but very few if any union men offered to work. At Belfast and Islington the men met in the hall and the companies* terms were explained by the management. The men declined to accept. No disorder occurred. A number of permanent hands began killing. The police are on guard at both places.
