WAIKATO SECOND DAY
THE FIELDS REVIEWED.
VOLIMOND AND .TEA TRADER. (By “Hurry . On?’) The Waikato meeting will conclude today at Te Rapa, when agafa some interesting racing should result. . Bejl Topper will probably be favourite for the. Frankton, but both Chateau and Loombfaation are fit and improving sorts. '' Tke Clarkin looks very open. has been working well, while Moonfleet, . Merry Lap, Imamint, Lady Lulu and Limex all have form to recommend them. The public may support Moonfleet, Prolyxo and Merry Lap fa that order. First day form points strongly to Gay Seton and Impasto again fighting out the finish, and as the latter will probably improve more with the race he may reverse places with his stable mate. Bonny Gay may do well amongst the others. ’ This is a good field. Volimond, Refresher, Royal Artipt,. Bronze Tray and Baroscope all went well on Saturday, while Speedmint and Senorita are likely newcomer?. However, Valimond’s finishing. run was impressive and she may court more supporters than Speedmint and Royal Artist. High Commissioner and Welcome Boy will probably dispute favouritism in the fajrdles but Carl Hertz is a lively improver. ■ L’Allegro won well on Saturday but will find difficulty in. giving weight to Gian Vane, who was badly served at the start the first day in the hack cup. Bay Marigold Master Brierly are a likely pair of three-year-olds. . Tea Trader, who was not started on Saturday, looks like starting favourite in the open six, but Paganelli and Gay Lap should run good races. A weak field will contest ■ tfie final race, but Soloist, Chief Joy and Trishha Will probably be best, backed.
