CHILD DIES IN HOSPITAL
EVIDENCE AT THE INQUEST.
LYMPHATIC ENLARGEMENT.

The unusual condition of a Maori child’s organs was given as the cause of a sudden death at the Cook Hospital. The child, aged six weeks, was taken to the hospital with its mother, who was a patient. It was seen In its cot by a nurse at 6.30 a.m. and was found dead at 7.30, having rolled over between the matress and the side of the crib.
A post-mortem examination revealed enlarged thymas and general, lymphatic enlargement. The child had shown no previous sign of illness. The coroner said he was satisfied that the child had received every attention in hospital and there had been no indications that it was not a normal child. . He found in accordance with the medical testimony.
