CHIEF JUSTICE GRANTS LEAVE.

Wellington, Last Night. Leave to apply to the Appeal Court for a new trial was granted by the Chief Justice to-day to Walter Clifton Anderson, aged 49, engineer. He had been convicted of indecently assaulting two little girls at Miramar. The ground of th© appeal was that th® verdict of the jury was against the weight of evidence. . . >. Bail was increased to £5OO for the prisoner and two. sureties of £250 each.
