Two of the courts are beginning to show cracks in the surface, and are to be covered with a dressing as soon as possible.’ • A party of golfers went to Taumarunui during the Labour Day week-end to join id the Labour Day tournament, at the Taupiaruniii links, Of the Ohura players C. Quintal and W, E. Hay were the only ones to survive the first roundA most enjoyable week-end was spent, notwithstanding the heavy rain on the Monday afternoon. The closing day of the Ohura Golf Club did not eventuate ag the grass became too long, rendering play impossible. , A successful find enjoyable dance was held, by the Ohura Golf Club on Qetober 28, Thq hall was decorated with streamers, greenery and balloons. During, the supper' interval trophies won. by members were presented id the following: Men’s championship, L. Galloway; junior championship, R. R. Dawber; captain’s trophy, Q. Bousefield; secretary a prize, J. G, Clark;, ladies’, championship. Miss E. Koorey, also tfie best score of the season; Mrs. H. M, Thompsons trophy for best eclectic score, Miss Xhckens; best net score, Mrs. M. Williams; driving competition, Mrs. E. J, Currie; putting competition,. Miss T. Tnrnbul > approaching competition, Mrs. W, R. Williams.
