CANADIAN WHEAT SLUMP

GOVERNMENT HELP DISCUSSED.

PREVIOUS SUPPORT RUMOURED.

By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Ottawa, Oct. 26.

A further fall in the price of wheat to-day will doubtlessly bring the question of Government support of the market into the House. Many rumours have been prevalent that the Dominion, has secretly supported the market at times in the past, but the Government has never announced "whether it was supporting the market. The announcement that no bonus would be given wheat-growers this year has no connection with the support or otherwise of the grain exchange. Last year the Government gave the prairie farmers a bonus of 5 cents a bushel.

A Winnipeg message states that a new seasonal low level in wheat prices was reached on Wednesday. The declines are 1 3-8 cents to 'I 7-8 cents.
