GENERAL AND PERSONAL ITEMS. A successful euchre and dance party was held by the Pukearuhe hall committee on Wednesday in order to terminate the winter series of tournaments. The attendance was particularly pleasing, there being over 80 people present, which necessitated the hall being used in lieu of the- supper room. Ten games were. played. Miss G. White and Miss M. Luxton tied with 8J games, Miss White winning the re-play. Mr. Carey won the men’s prize with the possible 10 games, Mr. W. Savage being the runner-up. After supper, music for dancing was played by the Mecca orchestra. The masters of ceremonies wete Messrs. H. Martin and V. Wells. As a result of the recent warm rain the district pastures gained much benefit. Thia is reflected in a higher output this September. as compared with that of other years. Mr. G. Salway has returned from hospital in New Plymouth. Mr. and Mrs. George Levy have returned to Auckland after spending a month’s holiday with their daughter, Mrs. Erie Cumming.
