GLOW-WORMS AT WAITOMO

BRAISE FROM AUSTRALIAN.

“Worms with tail-lights,” was how Mr. ; George Fitz Patrick, a well-known Sydney man,• described the glow-worms at Waitomo Caves, which he visited in the week-end in the course of a tour of the Dominion. He was enthusiastic in his praise and. said the oaves had been rightly described as the world’s eighth wonder. “It was one of the most interesting experiences of my life to be in that under-ground river, nearly hdlf a mile long, in the absolute stillness that appeared to envelope one like a blanket and to see what appeared to be millions of tiny stars in the darkness above,” he said. “The wonder* of it was almost equalled, however, by the courtesy and attention that were extended to visitors.”
