OPUNAKE FLOWER SHOW

MRS. D. MOURIE WINS CUP

MBS. R. J. MORRIS TN OUT BLOOMS-

AN ATTRACTIVE DISPLAY. The Opunake Presbyterian Ladies’ Guild annual spring flower show wap held at the Opunake Town Hall yesterday afternoon, arid evening,! when .there were good attendances. The entries- compared favourably' .with ’ those of previous,-years, and in the cut blooms the number was actually greater. The blooms were of excellent quality and made an attractive display. The champion narcissi bloom in the amateur section was “Kantara,” exhibited .by Mrs. D. • Mourie, while, in /ths novice classes for daffodils Mrs. H. Turner’s. “Swanley” was . the champipn blooin. Mrs. Mourie won the silver ,cyp for ,most points in the narcissi classes. A feature of the, show was the splendid, display of handwork, the various samples being greatly admired by the visitors. Of particular note was a. quilt, like an eiderdown, but instead of eifierdown it was filled with fluffy washed wool. ' ,
