SOUTH TARANAKI BOARD MEET ; S

The engineer, Mr. T. R. Overton, reported to the monthly meeting qf.the South Taranaki Power Board last night that 202,060 units had been generated in August and 109,680 purchased, a total of 327,680 to meet a maximum demand of. 1116 k.w. In August, 1931, 261,060 units were generated and the maximum demand was 972 k;w. The auxiliary .engine had been run for 43 hours for peak reduction. The water flow had been regular. Constructional work • hgd been done, on Road, and the joint line with the Kaponga Town- Board was nearly completed. Other. constructional work had been done on South Road. (Waimate West); and Beach Road. Seventeen service lines had been erected. ’ ■

For installations 115 permits were issued as follow:-: —Twenty-five new consumers,- 76 alterations and seven renewing and four for temporary work. ■ .. . . For the charity ball at Hawera the amount of electricity and material used and Services rendered in the 'board s time tin' connecting up water heaters, etc., would total about £5. Other service rendered by tiie staff and electrical firms ‘had not been taken into account. The I\aponga Town Board had asked for further material and work ip alterations being made on S'keet Road. I'hese would cost about £lOO.
